ADSL ON TOUR

On Sunday 25 July, a party of 52 set sail for Wales to take part in the Wales Super Cup for the third year in a row. This has always been a fantastic experience for the kids and one which will prove beneficial to their future development in football. Up to date Tales from Wales will appear here during the week.

The 3rd Annual Futsal Tournament kicked off on Tuesday night in the AIT. There were some cracking goals and great entertainment for the large crowd present. The knockout stages take place each evening this week with the Finals night scheduled for Thursday 14th January. Don't miss the unique atmosphere of all things FUTSAL.

 The ADSL were once again well represented at the Galway Umbro Cup which took place at the home ground of Salthill Devon in Drom.

It is only a few short days since the Welsh Super Cup but a long time for our then Under 12s who have now become Under 13s and will take part in the Elite Under 13 section.

The lads were drawn in a group with Salthill Devon, Sports Clinic from Mexico, FC Carlow and Donegal SL.

It's that time again as the ADSL embark on another journey across the Irish sea. This year, we will bring 63 academy players to the Wales Super Cup which runs from Monday 27th July to Friday 31st July. Included in the travelling party are 23 Under 12 players and 40 Under 11 players. You can follow the lads right here on the ADSL website, where we hope to bring you daily updates on progress. The ADSL will once again compete at the annual Kennedy Cup competition on location in Limerick University. The competition begins on Monday 15 June & ends on Friday 19 June 2009. The ADSL will be represented by the following squad of players who are eagerly awaiting the commencement of schoolboy footballs most prestigious tournament.

The ADSL roadshow take to the high seas once again when they head for Wales / England for a series of friendly games in preparation for the U13 Kennedy Cup which will be held in Limerick University in June. The Athlone boys will compete against Swansea City FC, Wrexham FC, Chester City FC & Welsh premier division outfit Airbus UK FC. This is sure to be an enjoyable trip so hopefully the weather will be kind to us over the weekend. The full squad is as follows,

The ADSL roadshow continues this week with the U12 academy taking part in the prestigious Umbro Cup in Galway. The lads will take on Derry City at 10.40 on Wednesday before doing battle with Donegal Schools at 3.50pm also on Wednesday. The next two group games take place on Friday when they play Roscommon at 10.40am and play South Tipp at 7.20pm. The full panel is as follows,

On Thursday 7th August it is the turn of the ADSL U14 Academy to take to the skies, when they head for Glasgow to take part in the Glasgow City Cup for the second year in a row. Day 1 - 9th June 2008. The long wait is over and its time to embark on the Kennedy Cup adventure.
